to build your own pois all you need is a pair of tennisballs and a 2 shoelaces (about 1m each).cut a little hole in each ball and make a big knot on on end of each shoelace. best is to fit a little screw within the knot. now push the screws through the holes with a screwdriver or a carkey.the screw holds the lace in place now. the best lenght is about from your hand to your armpit. now the balls shouldn`t touch the ground when you stretch your arms.don`t cut the lace yet, you will maybe need to readjust the lenght later until you feel comfortable.cut it at at about 70 cm. with the rest you make two little rings to fit arround your finger. it should look like an 8 now.the diameter is about 2cm. Last but not least tie the rings to the long lace and make some adjustments. only cut the rest of the lace when you are sure you have found the right lenght.
play them for a couple of days first. The tennisballs glow nicely in the UV light. if you chose black strings, the spectators won`t see them, but only your balls. If you choose white strings, the spectator will see them spinning.This effect might also be nice...
